  hello to all, so i did want to talk about this topic because i think it is very important to me.

  i have a grandfather who faded several decades ago.

  he occasionally attends an assembly and the memorial but no longer attends meetings or goes on field service.

  Jules, this is your crossroads and no one can tell you which direction is the best one to take. Just weigh up the consequences of your choice in the balance, and do what's best for you.

  If you choose fading, then "cautious & innocent" should be forefront in your mind when in most J.W.'s company.

  As for any loaded questions from elders and others, simply say "thanks for asking, but I can't discuss things at this time."

  If you ever act bolshy/confident with elders, they may view your demeanour as a challenge to their "authority" and a "disrespecting of glorious ones." Avoid doing so if you want to fade. Take small steps as you travel on this road.

  i'm sure i am not the only one to have heard this come out of the mouths of my loved ones.

  it's a very painful thing to hear, especially when it comes from the people like your own parents/family.

  even after i've been told that, they would say "we'll just continue life without you.

  Jules, you can thank such ones for saving Christ the hassle of judging people. :)

  Nine Scriptures reveal that the living & the dead will be judged by Christ Jesus - not by the WTBTS: John 5:28,29, Acts 10:42, Acts 17:31, Romans 14:9, 2 Cor. 5:10, 2 Tim. 4:1, 1 Pet. 4:5, Rev. 11:18 & 20:12.

  Revelation 11:18 reveals when his judging would begin, "But the nations became wrathful, and your own wrath came, and the appointed time came for the dead to be judged and to reward your slaves the prophets and the holy ones and those fearing your name, the small and the great, and to bring to ruin those ruining the earth.”

  
  

  As far as I'm aware, that scenario hasn't occurred yet, so the org's dogma that all of their deceased "anointed" ones are up in heaven right now now, is another fairy story concocted by the WTBTS.

  They are literally dying for the org's version of the great tribulation. :(

  hello, i've been lurking for quite some time here on this forum, reading a whole lot and i've finally made the courage to create an account as a form of escape and in hopes to be understood and not feel "mentally diseased".

  little background on me, i am a born in but i consider myself a pimo (physically in mentally out).

  i feel like i've always had doubts but these doubts would sink with the meetings and the assemblies and every other little thing that drowns any doubts a witness may have.

  Huge article(s) in Dutch media on JW child abuse

  so today the well-respected and serious newspaper trouw.nl came with child abuse within the jw as their topmost frontpage article.. the articles are well researched and aim primarily at the dutch jw situation.. afaik at least on member of this forum assisted the newspaper with the articles.

  Governments in the developed world can no longer turn a blind eye to the continuing stream of damning evidence regarding the WTBTS's concealment and protection of thousands of J.W. child-rapists within its Kingdom Halls.

  When one government decides to take robust legal action to deal with the org, the other dominoes will rapidly fall.

  Paedophile J.W.'s are already in their paradise - thanks to the "faithfully perverted slave" in Warwick.

  hello friends,.

  i am writing a paper on the teachings of the jws with a friend where we are going to debunk their bible translations and other false teachings/predictions the church has taught over the years.. i have never been a jw so this has put me in a bit of a pinch so i thought i would turn here to ask you guys for some help.. what are some of the key books/leaflets that debunk, or outline, the many false teachings/predictions of the jws?.

  i asked jwfacts and he told me to ask here so i thought i would.. anyway, thanks..

  Virtually every company/organization in the developed world is required by law to forewarn its users/customers of any potential risks or side-effects. Potential recruits of the WTBTS should be clearly warned - at the outset - the inhuman penalties they may face as a baptised J.W. if they commit a serious sin, challenge/disagree with a teaching, or simply state they no longer class themselves as one of J.W.'s.

  It's time for the human rights baseball bat to be used on the WTBTS.

  Why Are More JWs Claiming to be Anointed?

  most jws i know claim they are happy being in the great crowd.

  they'd rather live on a paradise earth and pet lions than go to heaven.. heaven is a place they can't relate to, a place where they don't expect their friends and loved ones to be.. so why are more and more jws claiming to be of the anointed?.

  aren't they looked down upon as if they are crazy, proud, ignorant, or engaging in apostate thinking?.

  I reckon that quite a percentage (but not all) have reached the conclusion that all Christians were to partake of the bread & wine - regardless of the destination "hoped" for.

  However, out of fear of the punishment which would certainly follow, they cannot openly state how they feel, so they just let others believe that they really do have the "heavenly hope."

  How does the WTS explain away THIS scripture?

  i'm honestly in awe about this particular scripture (and honestly i can't keep thanking jwfacts enough for providing biblical contradictions to the jw doctrine!).

  "john said to him: "teacher, we saw a certain man expelling demons by the use of your name and we tried to prevent him, because he was not accompanying us.

  " but jesus said: "do not try to prevent him, for there is no one that will do a powerful work on the basis of my name that will quickly be able to revile me; for he that is not against us is for us.

  Bottom line is that a Christian is a Christian - regardless of the cult's opinions!

  Here's a hypothetical scenario which I've rehearsed in my mind and plan to use if/when I meet my still-in friend:

  Me: If I asked you what your religion is, what would you say?

  J.W. friend: Why, Jehovah's Witness of course!

  Me: No, your religion is Christianity. Hence the reason why you're a Christian! Your denomination is J.W.

  J.W. friend: Mumble, mumble, mumble. (can't deny the terms Christian & Christianity)

  Me: So if I asked you tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day, what your religion is, how would you answer?

  J.W. friend: (reluctantly) Christian I suppose.
